The Yorkshire Magical Lantern Festival debuts at Roundhay Park in Leeds following the hugely successful UK launch in London earlier this year.
The Magical Lantern Festival is a festive celebration, bringing magnificent lanterns and festive magic alongside a spectacular fusion of art, heritage and culture to Yorkshire. This is an event like no other, giving a unique glimpse at the traditional Chinese festivals of light and illumination.
Visitors will follow a trail around Roundhay Park and explore amazing giant lanterns, which represent Christmas, traditional Chinese culture and the amazing 2000-year heritage of Lantern Festivals.
Visitors will enter the festival through a giant 16 metre wide lantern entrance feature before they embark on a fascinating journey through the park uncovering stunning lanterns in all shapes, colours and sizes from Santa Claus and his reindeers, to flowers and animals, offering something for everybody to enjoy, surrounded by beautiful scenery in one of Europe's largest city parks.
To spread the festive cheer, the glorious lanterns and garden landscapes will be joined by a market area, complete with street food and drink stalls, a family funfair, and our very own Santa's Grotto to ensure a magical run up to Christmas.

Your needs matter to us; that's why we have the largest specialist waste and recycling vehicle fleet in the country.
This allows us to provide you with an exceptional level of service, tailored to your requirements. Through our national network of collection depots covering over 95% of UK postcodes we provide a local service to all our customers.
Did you know as a nation, we are producing more waste than ever before; every year, UK businesses throw away more than 7 million tonnes of food. Most of the biodegradable food waste ends up in landfill, where it produces greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. This is costly to you and the environment, as landfill disposal costs continue to rise.
Changing the way we deal with our waste is no longer an option. It's a necessity.
As the UK's leading food waste collection service provider, Biffa can collect and recycle your food waste to help you control your waste costs and divert more waste from landfill.

Ingrid Flute's Yorkshire Holiday Cottages has been providing visitors with holiday accommodation and a high level of customer service since 1970. That makes us one of the country's longest established self-catering agencies, and Yorkshire's largest independent, family-owned agency. We have holiday homes in all the popular destinations including the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, and along Yorkshire's coast including Whitby, Scarborough and the many picturesque coastal villages.
When Ingrid started her Holiday Accommodation Agency, small card adverts in her shop window in Robin Hood's Bay were the order of the day. Now, we utilise all technology can offer to promote our properties and business from our offices in Whitby and Leyburn. However, we continue to embrace being part of a "people-focused" industry and our team is a wonderful mix of locally-based and knowledgeable people who are passionate about where they live and what they do.
Our properties range from quaint fisherman's cottages on the coast to countryside eco-lodges with all the mod-cons. We can offer visitors a range of facilities from hot tubs and spa access for a special break, to pools and tennis courts for those who like to keep fit. Relaxing isn't a problem in our properties with real fires, squishy sofas and within staggering distance of a good pub! For those who holiday with pets we have a great choice, and we've found cottages for cats, ravens and even two skunks and a parrot (yes, really!)
