Ian AshtonIan Ashton, Director, The World of James Herriot, Thirsk- Winner of Small Visitor Attraction in 2014

Having entered the White Rose Awards for a couple of years it was a complete and fantastic surprise on the night of the awards to find out that we'd won! All the staff were so happy and full of pride to learn of the good news and realise that they had all had an important role to play in this achievement. The media coverage which The World of James Herriot attracted through being shortlisted, and then winning the award, has been great for business.

Catherine Harrild, GM, Wentbridge House Hotel, Near Pontefract - Winner of Large Hotel in 2013 and Outstanding Customer Service in 2014

Wentbridge House HotelI can't tell you how happy I am that Wentbridge has won again at WRA - the whole team is buzzing and still on a high from when we found out we'd won. When we won ‘Large Hotel of the Year' last year we noticed that many people visiting, whether to stay over or to use our restaurant, were wearing the blue ‘Y' badge. These were business/corporate people who we can only assume heard about Wentbridge at the ceremony itself and wanted to see what the winning hotel was like! We've seen an increase in corporate business since our win. My whole team is so proud to have won the customer service award this year - it's fantastic for staff morale!

Liz Clayton, Marketing and PR, The Talbot Hotel, Malton - Winner of ‘Small Hotel' in 2014

The Talbot Hotel, MaltonWe were absolutely delighted to have won the ‘Small Hotel' category last year and the press interest before and after the awards evening has been very beneficial to our business. Compiling the information required for our entry also gave us the opportunity to appreciate how hard everyone has worked at the hotel and it was a very rewarding exercise to see how far we have come.
